Intern Architect April 2012 – December 2013

  • Became proficient in the use of Revit Architecture for the completion of schematic design models, construction documents and renderings. Capable of managing projects with multiple phases and design options, collaborating with design and construction consultants, troubleshooting and teaching others.

  • Managed projects throughout design, bidding, code review and construction phases, independently attending pre-bid and OAC meetings, site visits and punch walks. Instructed other team members and developed task outlines and schedules to ensure on-time project completion.

  • Participated in Carolinas Healthcare System’s LEAN 3P process - a week-long design and process charette with members of the administration and end-users to develop more efficient layouts for two separate medical office buildings, then was a member of the design team on both projects, taking lessons learned from one to inform future phases as well as the design of the other, reducing RFI’s, revisions and change orders.

  • Researched and developed prototypes for future projects, including a set of 80-416-bed detention modules.
